Southern Living Magazine Returns to Whisper Mountain Whisper Creek Cottage Read more about Whisper Mountain Homes 2008 was a milestone for Whisper Mountain, when Southern Living magazine selected our community as the site to build their LEED certified "Green" Idea House. Over 6,500 people toured the home and this year promises to be just as exciting.
We are pleased to announce that Southern Living magazine and MyHomeIdeas.com has chosen Whisper Mountain once more, this time to feature their Choose Your Home Giveaway house opening in May 2009. Some lucky person will enter the sweepstakes that runs from March until June and win their own special retreat!
This Giveaway home, Whisper Creek Cottage, is a 1,550 square foot, two bedroom mountain retreat that rests alongside Whisper Creek, the natural spring-fed stream that flows from high on the mountain. From the porch of the cottage, you can enjoy long-range views of the Great French Broad River Valley, listen to the creek as it rolls past, or look out over the paths and bridges that wind through the pristine parkland that forms the heart of our community.
Whisper Creek Cottage, with its rustic exterior of shingle and stone and broad covered porches, reflects the style and charm of the mountains of Western North Carolina. Southern Living homes feature the finest in regional architecture, interior design and landscaping, and through conscientious construction and thoughtful attention to detail, it is our hope that Whisper Creek will tell the story of living at Whisper Mountain.
